Co-design and  Community Consultation

MEMP recognises the vital role community leaders and connectors play in enhancing preparedness, response, and recovery within migrant and refugee communities. Our strong connections with newly arrived communities across the state enable us to support the Emergency Management Sector by consulting and co-designing resources that prioritise cultural inclusiveness and safety.

By partnering with MEMP, organisations can ensure their emergency management strategies are inclusive, culturally sensitive, and effective in safeguarding all community members.

"It is assisting the emergency management sector to better
understand the strengths of community networks that can
be drawn on and to improve community understanding
of how to better prepare for, respond to and recover from
emergencies.
‘To put it simply, it’s about emergency services and our
communities genuinely listening and learning together
about how to keep us safe’
